  1. What Is Personal Data?

This includes information such as your (actual) name, address, or telephone number. Your email address may also fall under this category if it contains your name and thus allows your identity to be determined. Information with no connection to your identity, such as age or gender alone, does not constitute personal data.

  1. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

As a rule, you can use hanse-office.de without providing any personal data. In certain cases, however, we process the personal data listed in section 5. This is generally done only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website, as well as certain content, functions, and services. If you do not wish this to happen, you may not be able to use our services to their full extent.

Furthermore, we process personal data in connection with your use of hanse-office.de if you provide it voluntarily, for example as part of a registration, an inquiry to us, an application, or the conclusion of a subscription, or because another legal basis applies.

  1. Categories of Data Processed
  2. a) Use of hanse-office.de
    As soon as you use hanse-office.de, our system automatically collects information from the computer system of the accessing device in a log file. This may include the following data:

– Information about the browser type and version used

– The user’s operating system

– Mobile device ID

This data is also generated when accessing any other website on the internet, so it is not a special feature of this website. The at least temporary storage of the IP address is technically necessary to enable the website to be delivered to the user’s device. This data is evaluated exclusively for statistical purposes in anonymized form. Storage also serves to maintain the integrity of hanse-office.de (preventing or tracing spam or DDoS attacks). This raw data is deleted after 5 business days.

  1. b) Subscribing to the HansEUmschau

We also collect personal data if you sign up to receive the HansEUmschau newsletter.

The following data is stored:

First name, last name, and email address.

By requesting to receive the HansEUmschau newsletter, you consent to the storage of your data.

This data is not used for other purposes, nor is it shared with third parties. Within the Hanse-Office, access to and processing of your data is limited to those employees entrusted with pursuing the aforementioned purposes. They are bound by confidentiality.

You have the right

  • to request information about the personal data we process concerning you, in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR;
  • to request the immediate correction of inaccurate personal data or the completion of your personal data stored by us, in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR;
  • to request the deletion of your personal data stored by us, in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR;
  • to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR;

  • to withdraw, at any time, any consent you have previously given us, in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR, so that we delete your data;
  1. Legal Basis and Purposes of Processing

We process your data solely on the basis of one or more applicable legal grounds. Under the GDPR, personal data may in particular be processed on the basis of a contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures, with your consent, or on the basis of a legitimate interest.

If data is processed for a purpose other than the one stated at the time of collection, a compatibility assessment is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (4) GDPR. Further processing is permitted only if the original purpose is compatible with the new purpose or if a separate legal basis permits it. Recognized compatible purposes include, among others, the assertion, exercise, or defense of civil law claims, provided there is no overriding interest of the data subject. In such cases, we will inform you of the change of purpose. If the new purpose is not compatible with the purpose stated at the time of collection, new data will be collected on the basis of a new legal ground. Here, too, we will inform you of the change of purpose.

  1. Place of Processing

We ourselves do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area, except in cases permitted under the GDPR.

  1. Disclosure of Your Data to Third Parties

This data is not used for other purposes, nor is it shared with third parties.

  1. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies. Cookies are small files that your browser stores on your device in a designated directory. They can, among other things, be used to determine whether you have visited a website before. If you consent, cookies may also store login data for an online service, so that you do not have to enter this login data each time you visit the site. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier for the cookie. It consists of a string of characters through which websites and servers can be linked to the specific internet browser in which the cookie was stored. This allows the websites and servers visited to distinguish the individual browser of the data subject from other internet browsers containing different cookies. A particular internet browser can be recognized and identified by its unique cookie ID.

We use two types of cookies: technically necessary cookies, without which the functionality of our website would be limited, and optional cookies, used to make our website more user-friendly. The user data collected through technically necessary cookies is not used to create user profiles. Analytics cookies are used to improve the quality of our website and its content. Through analytics cookies, we learn how the website is used and can continuously optimize our offering. Further information on the individual analytics services can be found in section 12 of this privacy notice.

You can prevent the setting of cookies by us at any time by adjusting the settings of your internet browser, thereby permanently objecting to the use of cookies. Furthermore, cookies that have already been set can be deleted at any time via an internet browser or other software programs. This is possible in all common internet browsers. If you disable the setting of cookies in the browser you use, not all functions of our website may be fully usable.

Further information on cookies can also be found on the following (consumer) portals, where settings can also be managed globally. There, you can also view the activation status of tools from various providers and object to the collection or analysis of your data by these tools:

www.meine-cookies.org

www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement

optout.networkadvertising.org

https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated?hl=de

Cookies cannot identify you as a person. In any case, the use of cookies is justified on the basis of our legitimate interest in the needs-based design and statistical analysis of hanse-office.de (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).

  1. Other Services

Google Maps
We use Google Maps to display maps. This integration requires Google to be able to detect users’ IP addresses. The IP address is necessary to send the content to the user’s browser. Please note that Google has its own privacy policy, independent of ours. Before using our website, please review Google’s privacy policy at www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/. Google Maps is based on JavaScript code, so you can prevent its execution entirely by disabling JavaScript in your browser settings or by installing a JavaScript blocker. Please note that our website may then not display correctly.

  1. Storage Period

We store personal data only for as long as we are authorized to do so and the purpose of processing continues to apply. The respective statutory retention period applies to the storage of personal data. After this period expires, the relevant data is routinely deleted unless it is still required for the performance or initiation of a contract.

  1. Contact Details and Your Rights

If you have questions or suggestions regarding data protection, or wish to assert your rights as a data subject, please feel free to contact our data protection officer at any time:

datenschutz(at)hamburg.de or mail(at)datenschutzzentrum.de

Access and Rectification

You may, at any time and free of charge, request information from us as to whether personal data concerning you is processed by us, and specifically which data is stored about you, as well as request a copy of the stored data. You may also have inaccurate data corrected and completed.

Erasure, Restriction, and the Right to Be Forgotten

You may request the erasure and restriction of your personal data.

Data Portability

Where applicable, you also have the right to have the personal data concerning you transmitted to you or to another controller in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, provided that processing is based on consent or a contract and is carried out using automated means. This does not apply, however, if processing is not necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller. You also have the right to have personal data transmitted directly from one controller to another, where this is technically feasible and does not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.

Withdrawal / Objection

You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time, with effect for the future, by contacting the address given above. In particular, you may object at any time, in writing or in text form, to the use of your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter by contacting info@hanse-office.de. Furthermore, you have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of your personal data carried out on the basis of a legitimate or public interest. In the event of an objection, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or if the processing serves to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims.

If we process personal data in order to conduct direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data for such marketing purposes by contacting the address given above. You also have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object to the processing of personal data concerning you that we carry out for scientific or historical research purposes or for statistical purposes, unless such processing is necessary to perform a task carried out in the public interest.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, as well as the option to pursue legal remedies. The supervisory authority with which the complaint was lodged will inform the complainant of the status and results of the complaint, including the possibility of a judicial remedy.

Existence of Automated Decision-Making

We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling.
